Apparently socks are the least noticeable part of an outfit, but in reality, they can completely ruin an outfit. These are those pieces of clothing that sometimes men choose in a hurry, without giving proper attention to it. In order to avoid unpleasant situations, in order not to attract disapproving looks of the connoisseurs, we have conceived in the following lines a short guide that presents a series of criteria according to which the appropriate socks should be chosen.

How we wear socks according to the outfit

An elegant outfit requires socks to match. You will have to pick a simple pair and in colours that match that of your trousers, so as not to make the discordant note with the outfit. For casual outfits, you can choose less sophisticated or patterned socks that offer the same comfort for your leg and match perfectly with the whole outfit. For sportswear, you have to remember a single rule that is exclusive. For white socks, regardless of length, only wear them as sportswear. There is, however, an exception: white socks can also be worn with other outfits only if the garments are predominantly light.

How to choose socks according to colour

If the general rule when it comes to sports outfits tells you to opt for white socks, for other types of outfits you will apply another rule – choose the socks to match the colour of the trousers you are wearing but a lighter shade or darker. See more. For the black suit choose black, elegant socks. For a brown suit, pick thin, classic socks. For jeans, pick socks in the colour of your worn trousers. You understand the idea – matching is done with your pants and not your shoes. If you are adept of colourful print socks, you will definitely come out when displaying them. This is the goal, after all, but you do not have to exaggerate. The rule in this situation says that those colours in the socks print should also be found in the colours of the other pieces of clothing you wear.

How to choose socks depending on the material

Here you have three options: natural fibres, synthetic fibres, or mixtures of them in varying proportions. If you choose natural socks (e.g., 100% cotton or wool), you should know that such materials do not encourage sweating of the feet, allow the skin to breathe and also have antibacterial and antifungal properties. It also helps to regulate the temperature by providing adequate ventilation, which means that they are the right choice regardless of the season. In the summer they will give you comfort by allowing your legs to breathe, and in the cold season will favour keeping your heat to provide the desired level of support when the temperatures drop.

Synthetic socks are preferred if they engage in sporting activities. Their texture provides some shock absorption – for example, socks made of synthetic materials are recommended for those who practice running or various other sports. Last but not least, you can choose socks made of mixes of natural and synthetic materials. They behave well, as you want to give your feet a certain level of compression with the help of a percentage of elastane that is in the socks. At the same time, the legs will also benefit from the comfort of natural fibres.

How to choose socks by type or length

As a general rule, for long pants, you need to choose long socks. These are elegant outfits such as a formal attire, but casual ones consisting of trousers or jeans. Keep in mind that you will have to keep the same chromatic matching: the socks you choose will have the same colour but a darker or lighter shade than the worn trousers.

Short socks, which reach the ankle or slightly over the foot, can usually be worn for sportswear. Such socks can also be chosen if your outfit is casual, which involves a pair of shorts to. Indispensable for any type of male outfit, the socks must be carefully chosen. If you want to know what type of socks fit your outfit, check Pulse Socks Australia for some tips. Short or long, plain or with print, men’s stockings are equally the label of the wearer, as is his shoe. For this reason, choosing socks is a challenge you need to earn.

Do your socks match your outfit? I think the answer to this question is rather individual. The most classical or conservative are going to go with assorted shoe shapes, and the most non-conformist can choose colourful socks with different prints that fit into the selected outfit by matching with at least one piece you wear.
