The Rise Bar & Restaurant is located within the simply stunning Grand Hotel, York. Recently I was invited along for cocktail making and to review the menu. The Rise is ideal for grabbing a drink, a delicious afternoon tea, or as I tried on this occasion, a delicious dinner or lunch.
The Rise is perfect for trying dishes with a variety of flavours, some of which you usually probably wouldn’t think of even trying. The nature of the restaurant is tapas style, so dishes come out as and when.
To begin with, we had assigned seating which had a napkin and a glass with my initials on. I absolutely loved this personal touch! We created a few different cocktails all together, after listening to the bar man and watching him make some.
Now, it was time for the food. I didn’t really know what to expect as I’ve never been to The Grand Hotel York before. Lets just say, I will definitely be returning. When we were seated at our table to dine, there was bread and butter waiting for us, and then the food started to gradually be brought out.
The service during the evening was spectacular, I couldn’t fault it. The staff were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. They also kept bringing us cocktails, eeek! The food was flavoursome and I loved the variety of colours and textures on each dish.
Unfortunately I had to leave a little early as I came down with a stomach bug, so I got to photograph dessert but I didn’t get to try any! I adored my goodie bag which included a cocktail glass. Every dish was visually stunning to be honest. I hope to return to The Rise Bar & Restaurant, located at The Grand Hotel in York in future, as the food was incredible. Thank you so much to the PR team and The Rise Bar & Restaurant for inviting me.
Have you ever stayed or dined at one of the restaurants in The Grand Hotel York?
