Located on Stonegate in York, The Botanist offers a great attention to detail, decent quality, and a huge selection of cocktails and craft beers. I have now attended the opening event and I was also invited for an evening of cocktail tasting and had the opportunity to try some more of the food.

On the opening night, the whole bar and restaurant was completely packed with hungry locals, bloggers and local businesses who had all been invited to sample the menu. Kiel didnt quite believe me when I explained he could have any drink he wanted. He did take this quite literally and got a little drunk (he definitely had a hangover when he went to work the following morning).

For this event, I brought my mum along with me as my plus one. I was drinking cocktails (of course!) but my mum was driving, so the wonderful staff at The Botanist made some yummy mocktails for her, such as the one in the image below.

Below is a selection of the food I recently tried at the blogger evening at The Botanist York. This included pork scratchings, onion rings, burger sliders, cumberland and pork chipolatas, crispy whitebait, mini fish and chips, and so much more. The food and cocktails just kept coming out!

I also got to try a variety of alcoholic cocktails, such as strawberry bellinis which are extremely delicious and other varieties of cocktails. My ultimate favourite by far was the cocktail in the plant pot. It tasted sweet but refreshing.

Overall, I have really enjoyed this experience and the event at The Botanist. The atmosphere, food, drinks and service was awesome – a huge shout out to the PR team for inviting me, and The Botanist for having all of us. It was wonderful to catch up with some of the local bloggers from around York. You can find out more information and view the menu on The Botanist website.
