Modern dating can be so tough. It can be especially tough for those who identify as LBGTQ+ and want to embrace the world of dating. We all want to meet someone where we have a relationship with them, which is all about equality and respect.
Your search for someone may be very specific e.g sexuality and/or location, such as lesbian dating in Bournemouth, lesbian dating in Western Isles, gay dating in Oxford, gay dating in Basingstoke or gay dating in Maidstone. You get the idea!
The world of dating can be incredibly scary and confusing. I know I’m not alone in feeling this. Relationships themselves can be quite complex, so it’s no wonder dating is tough for most people.
I recently asked my Twitter followers to answer this question. You guys had such great answers and it shows that we all experience dating in different ways, no matter how we identify as.
Modern dating is… “Modern dating is horrific”
Katie maybe hasn’t had the greatest experiences with dating. The emoji she used in her tweet to me clearly displayed this.
Alan opted to respond to the question with one word, “exhausting” which I have to admit, dating can be exhausting.
Modern dating is… “about giving your tinder to your coupled up friends to play on.”
Lizi (GlassesGirl) makes a great point with her response. I’ve experienced this personally, as I am in a relationship but I’ve played about on a single friends Tinder before. Our types/preferences were so different that she only liked one of the men who I matched her with haha.
Lorna made such a valid point in her response to me. It’s so easy to get swept away in the exciting emotions and feelings. People do move at different paces and you need to make sure you are going at a pace which you feel comfortable with when dating someone.
Yes! Dating can be annoying. Searching through all the idiots until you meet someone even half decent. Then there needs to be a spark or connection. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, as someone will probably come along when you least expect it (cheesy I know).
What does modern dating mean to you? Let me know in the comments.
