I’ve recently moved back to my home city, York and I’d been hoping for a while that there would be more York based blogger events. My prayers were answered when I was invited to the Spring event at Lush, York.
Beforehand, I offered to meet up with the wonderful Fii (check out her amazing blog) as she was travelling from Sheffield to York on her own and I didn’t want her to get lost. We had a bit of time to spare before the event started, so we found a nearby Starbucks and had a catch-up.
As I entered the Lush York store, we were greeted by smiling faces from the staff, offering us vegan jammie dodgers and vegetarian golden chocolate eggs. We were also asked if we wanted a drink of Lemonade or Sparkling British Blackberry & Elderflower Presse, which tasted delicious by the way.
I’d heard a lot about the spring and easter products from other bloggers online (I actually went to the Lush Meadowhall store to have a sneaky look at the range a couple of days before the York event). The event was well structured, starting with playing a couple of games to break the ice and introduce ourselves.
Next, the staff did product demos of the spring, easter and Mothers Day products. There were different stations set up so we could see the varied products in action. The Bunch Of Carrots bubble bars are like nothing I’ve seen before, they are so bright and colourful. I love them because of how unique they are. It’s also worth noting that they are reusable.
The staff were so kind and helpful, answering any questions we had. One thing I need to mention, I’d never seen anything like the Bouncing Bunny shower jelly before, it’s so amazing! I was excited to smell the Yummy Mummy shower cream, which has been released especially for Mother’s Day. It has a very calming scent.
How cool is the Humpty Dumpty bath bomb though?! We had a bit of a debate about whether he is sweet or sinister looking. I’ll be honest, I ended up buying quite a lot haha. I didn’t get as carried away as the last Lush event I attended, but I still spent quite a lot – oops.
I found out this was Lush York’s first ever blogger event, they did such a good job. I left with such a huge smile on my face – what a wonderful evening, with brilliant products and amazing company. The whole evening was so brilliant, I absolutely loved my bloggers goodie bag full of Lush products which I’ll be writing blog posts about soon.
