Learning From Bad Relationships

Naturally, we look at failure as a negative thing, such as bad relationships we have experienced or in our work life. Valentines is fast approaching, so I wanted to write something based on a dating topic that isn’t the nicest to think about, but hopefully someone may find this helpful. The world of adult dating can be rather scary, as people sometimes turn out to not be the person you thought they were.

Never do something you don’t feel comfortable doing

I have cared for someone so much that I put their wants before my own happiness. Try to only agree to things which you want to do or feel comfortable with. For example, I leant someone a lot of money who I dated and I rarely got it back.

Don’t let someone put something else/others before you

This behaviour is a huge red flag, so be sure to watch out for manipulative behaviour. You are important, and they should at least consider your feelings. Some people may have addictions, which they aren’t willing to admit they have, but will put whatever their addiction may be before you and your relationship.

Once someone cheats or lies, they will probably do it again

It is true. I’d like to think that everyone deserves a second chance but from my own experience, I shouldn’t have given this person another chance. And another. And another. And another. You get the idea. They see you as weak and walk all over you, as much as they can. You deserve so much better, so try not to let someone give you this type of horrible treatment.

Looking out for those key signs from your previous bad relationships, can help avoid you getting hurt again. Once you feel ready to head back into the world of dating, do everything at your own pace. Online dating can be a good way of throwing yourself back into dating, as you are in control. If you are moving, perhaps you could look at websites where you are relocating to, such as Devon dating sites, Yorkshire dating sites, date Buckinghamshire singles, or dating in Cheshire. You could also specify by the gender(s) you are looking to date, such as single men in Lothian. You are important and you deserve to be happy.
