I was lucky enough to recently be invited along to review the new summer drinks menu and food at Joes Kitchen in York. I’ve previously reviewed the food at Joe’s Kitchen before, which was excellent, but I was excited to try some of their summer drinks for myself. The restaurant is well known amongst my friends for how child friendly it is, with good quality food of affordable value.
On Coney Street in York, the restaurant used to be the home of Café Rouge. Now you will find Joes Kitchen, a family friendly restaurant with a delightful atmosphere. On our previous visit, the restaurant was very busy. To our delight, it was a little quieter as it was early afternoon. On both of our visits, the staff were friendly and extremely welcoming.
As a huge cocktail fan, I knew I had to try one of the cocktails from the gin summer menu. I decided to give the Bloom cocktail a try. This was beautifully presented, as it was served with rose petals and red sliced apple. My cocktail was very refreshing and tasted gorgeous.
Kiel fancied a burger, so he chose the Classic Burger, which was “Simply served with our 6oz* Foxham Farm beef patty.” and I also had a bite of this, it was very tasty. I fancied something light and a little different, so I decided to have the Chicken Thai Green Curry. The ingredients were very fresh and the meal itself was presented well and tasted delicious.
Joe’s Kitchen have impressed me yet again – we left feeling incredibly full, yet satisfied. The environment is friendly and the staff are helpful, providing a good service. If you’re looking for somewhere to have some food before/after walking around York shopping, be sure to check out Joe’s Kitchen. Thank you once again to the wonderful team at Joes Kitchen for having us.
