Keeping up with all of the most current trends and styles can be a full time job all on its own. Each season ushers in new colours, patterns, fabrics, styles, and looks, making it almost impossible for the average person to keep up. Over time you may stop paying attention to the fashion magazines and runways and just stick with what you’ve already got in your wardrobe. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with marching to the beat of your own drum and following every trend that comes along, at the same time it can be easy to fall into a style rut and become rather uninspired, resulting in you feeling less confident.
If you feel like you may be in a style rut yourself, and your clothes don’t make you feel very confident or happy about yourself, it may be time for a makeover. Here we’ll take a look at ways you can achieve that makeover whether you’re just looking to make a few small changes or more dramatic ones.
One of the most dramatic yet simple ways to go about a makeover is to get a brand new hairdo. This means a new cut/style and colour. If you’re unsure of what hairstyle would look best on you and suit your hair type, then it’s a good idea to book a consultation with a hairstylist and ask for their input. They will be able to provide personalized recommendations based on what’s possible with your hair. Hairstylists will take into account your hair type, length, how much maintenance you are willing to deal with, and your lifestyle.
If you don’t have the budget, or just don’t feel the need to invest in a whole new wardrobe you can instantly inject style into what you’ve got by accessorizing. Check out what is currently trendy in terms of necklaces, earrings, belts, bracelets, purses, and shoes and spend your money in those areas. What’s great about accessories is that you don’t have to spend a fortune if you don’t want, which also means you can refresh them each season.
Are you guilty of using the same style of makeup application, same colours, and the same products for years now? If so you aren’t alone. Again, this is an area you can fall into a rut. You can instantly change up your look though simply by adding a few new products, applying them in different ways, and playing with how much or how little makeup you apply.
If these tips feel like they will just be scraping the top of the iceberg for you, then it may be time for a mommy makeover. What is a mommy makeover you ask? This is a cosmetic procedure that is becoming increasingly popular and is meant to give mums back their pre-baby body and shape. This is done through body contouring such as a breast lift, tummy tuck, body lift, liposuction, or breast augmentation.
Following these tips will help you get out of your style rut and feel confident once again.
