Looking for the perfect prom dress, graduation dress or occasion dress can be a challenge. Prom season will be upon us before we know it, and the experience of looking for the perfect prom dress can be a little overwhelming. My prom dress was long in length, came in a deep blue colour and looked beautiful (to me, at least). I remember feeling excited and comfortable wearing my beautiful dress.
There are many struggles when looking for a dress and a variety of things to consider; do I want it long, medium or short? Flowing or figure hugging? Colour? What kind of shoes/heels should I pair my dress with? SO MANY CHOICES!
Set yourself a budget
Setting a money limit for yourself can be really help as it aids in narrowing your search down slightly. It also helps you to manage your expectations of what you can get for the amount of money you have available to spend.
Consider accessories, shoes and all the other details
Think about how you will be styling your hair, will you be getting this done professionally at a salon? It’s also important to keep in mind that you will need suitable shoes and accessories to match your dress, which you will also need to spend money on.
Look at a variety of styles and options
Do some research online into celebrities who have a similar body type to yours, as this will help you see which styles may work best with your body shape and flatters your figure. Decide on the kind of cut you would like and this will help with your prom dress search.
Choose a colour
Selecting a colour is important because you will know what colours suite you best. You want to wear a colour you will feel comfortable in, so if you don’t like bright colours, perhaps choose something in a darker colour such as black or dark blue.
You can look for prom dress shops and occasion dress stores in your local area. A quick google will give you an overall idea of where your nearest shops are located. There are a variety of prom dress websites out there, such as https://www.promdressfinder.co.uk which has a huge database of beautiful dresses from a variety of online shops. Searching online can be a great way of easily browsing what’s available within your budget.
If you have any seconds thoughts or doubts, there is a chance the dress isn’t the right one for you. Picking a dress which you will feel comfortable in, confident and that you will enjoy your prom/event/occasion wearing will put you at ease. If you don’t have a huge budget, there are plenty of places which sell affordable prom wear now. I can’t wait for prom season, seeing you guys in your beautiful prom outfits!
