I have a love/hate relationship with winter. I can’t stand the cold, but I love it when I’m all snug in my flat with a hot water bottle and a mug of hot chocolate. I’ve put together this post about date ideas for winter, as options can be more limited at this time of year, compared to Summer.
Winter is a time where those in relationships probably don’t consider going out on date nights as much, whereas some people who are single may want to meet someone to cuddle up with over winter. Whether you’re single or in a relationship, hopefully these suggestions will give you some date ideas for winter.
Binge watch a series together
This option obviously depends on your own situation, but if you are dating someone who you know particularly well, perhaps you were friends first, you could binge watch some films or a series together.
Cinema and dinner
Although this is a common date idea, sometimes it can be overlooked. Heading out for a nice meal in a restaurant and then going to see a new film can result in a really nice evening.
Be a tourist in another city
This doesn’t have to be a particularly expensive option. As I live in York, we have a lot of nearby sea side towns such as Scarborough and busy cities such as Leeds. Travel by bus or train can be affordable if you aren’t travelling too far. Explore the town or city together and treat yourselves to some lunch.
Go on a nice walk together
Sometimes it can be nice to head out and go for a walk. Particularly in winter, just make sure you wrap up warm and put on a warm coat, a scarf and some gloves. If you have a dog (or dogs), explore a different area which then be fun for both you and your pets.
If you are in the dating game at the moment and looking to meet people, don’t worry – I’ve got you covered! You could attempt to meet someone “the old fashioned way” by going to a bar or gig and get talking to people, or dating apps are increasing in popularity now. Dating websites are an incredibly popular way of meeting someone, such as a specific age group e.g. over 50s dating, or location based dating websites e.g. Gloucester dating or Lincolnshire dating. Another popular method could be going via a location based agency, for example, a Berkshire dating agency or Glasgow dating agency.
