Last weekend I attended the Blog At The Beach event in Leeds, hosted by Icelolly.com and their wonderful team. Blog At The Beach was first created by Icelolly in 2015, so they could meet bloggers and influencers from all over the UK. It really is so great that a brand like Icelolly want to get to know bloggers and try to give back to the blogging community.
The theme this time was a tropical Christmas party. Upon arrival, we were greeted by some of the Icelolly team and asked for our names, so we could be handed our name badge – ready for a fun packed day of blogging and networking. With each event, I always meet new people and this time didn’t disappoint. Meeting new people is one of my favourite parts of blogging.
After some warm mulled wine and mingling with other bloggers and influencers, we were asked to take a seat. After an introduction from Emma at Icelolly, explaining how the day would unfold – it was time for some learning.
Elizabeth was the first speaker, who spoke about Pinterest and the best practices for using the platform. The next talk was by Judith, an SEO expert and chocolate lover who I thought was hilarious and knew a lot about SEO. The last speaker of the day was Sabina, from Girl vs Globe, who gave us tips on how we can make our Instagram accounts stand out from the crowd.
After the first talk had finished, it was time for food. There was such a wonderful selection of food available for us to choose from and it all tasted great. I felt so full afterwards, so I only managed to eat half of the dessert which was lemon cheesecake.
By far though, the highlight of my day at Blog At The Beach was seeing my beautiful friend Becky (Blogger and The Geek). I’ve known Becky for 10+ years now and it had been 5 years since I last saw her. It was incredibly lovely to see her and catch up.
There was also a 12 days of Christmas competition, where we had to complete 9 – 12 blogging related tasks to be in with a chance of winning a Go Pro Experience and there was a main prize, which was for a holiday to Barcelona. I didn’t win (gutted!) but I’m so pleased that the absolutely lovely Yorkshire Wonders. Congratulations Nikki, the prize couldn’t have gone to a nicer person!
Thank you so much to the Icelolly.com team for hosting such an interesting Blog At The Beach event, it was evident how much hard work had been put into making it such a success. Well done to the amazing speakers, Elizabeth, Judith and Sabina, I left feeling incredibly inspired on Saturday afternoon and I’ve already implemented a lot of the ideas that we were taught. I hope I’ll be invited again to your next event – I can’t wait, if so!
