When it comes to deciding what to do for a date night, you should consider your dates interests. Although the cinema or drinks in a local bar can be nice, sometimes it’s a great idea to spice things up and do something a little different on a date. Dating should be fun, so I’ve put together this list of alternative date night ideas. Every option may not appeal to you, but something could spark a different idea for an alternative date.

Bring Your Own Everything

One person brings the drinks (perhaps alcohol if you both drink) and the other brings along the food. Pick a fun location together, with a nice view. This can be quite an interesting experience as it’s like pot luck as to what exactly you will both bring along, but better!

Afternoon tea at a luxury hotel

I love a decent afternoon tea, with delicious sandwiches, beautiful cakes, warm scones (with jam and cream – mmm yum!) and either a pot of tea or something sparkling (champagne) if you want to add an extra splash of luxury to your date. A great alternative date idea could be to book in for an afternoon tea at a fancy hotel, either in your town/city or somewhere a short journey away.

Head to a theme park

Theme parks are fun and aren’t limited to just your teenage years. Even if you aren’t particularly a fan of the rides, it’s worth a visit for the candy floss and other foodie treats.

Pretend to be a tourist

No matter where you are located, or how long you have lived there, my guess is that there will be a variety of local tourist-type activities to do. Maybe your date doesn’t come from your area, which means whatever you choose to see will probably be a new experience for them. Although museums aren’t everyone’s idea of dating locations, you could grab a bite to eat and/or a drink before, or after.

DIY wine tasting

Throw together a variety of meats, cheeses and other foods which can be paired with wine for your own DIY wine tasting. The bonus of doing this is you can just buy wine which you know you both like and enjoy drinking. You could also cater the food to match yours or your dates food preferences, e.g. if you are vegan or vegetarian.

If you are single or available and looking at meeting someone to go on alternative date nights with, there are a variety of online dating websites which cater to your specific interests. If you are looking for someone location based, you can search via region or city such as Yorkshire dating site, Guernsey dating, Birmingham dating or single women in Gwent. You may be looking at alternative adult dating altogether, such as naughty dating, which could be an option. There are a variety of alternative date options and ideas, you can use Pinterest to collect ideas or jot them down in your diary.

Have you ever had an alternative date night? What did you do? Do you like the sound of any of the options above?
