If you happen to be in formal employment, then you probably spend a lot of time at work. This means a significant amount of money and time is invested in looking presentable whether you happen to wear a uniform or have a dress code you have to follow. If you’re naturally fashionable, this may be something that you look forward to, whereas if you aren’t, it can seem more like a tedious task.
If you need tips regarding quick ways to look smart when you’re going to work, then carry on reading. Here are a couple of ways that you may find particularly useful.
1. Own a Nice Blazer
One item you should always have in your work wardrobe is a nice blazer. The good thing about blazers is that they’re more versatile than you think and can be worn in a range of different ways. For instance, on a dress down day, you could decide to throw on a blazer with a pair of jeans and stylish pumps. With that being said, try getting a few in a range of colours so that you have more than enough to wear throughout the week.
2. Invest in a Luxury Wristwatch
One simple way to look smart when you’re going to work is to get a nice wristwatch. If you work in a professional setting, then getting a luxury one could especially be a good idea. This is a timeless accessory that can help you look smart and it’s also a way to quickly tell the time which you tend to look at often during work hours. If you aren’t sure which brand to go with, consider trying Panerai as you can expect both quality and accuracy from their products.
3. Choose Structured Bags
Most people tend to bring bags to work, and this is an opportunity to add style to your look. As opposed to bringing slouchy bags, look for a good quality structured work bag instead. A top-handle bag, briefcase, or structured tote could give you more of an organised and sleek image which is what you want when working within a professional environment.
4. Use a Drycleaner
If you can afford it, you should take some of your work clothes to a drycleaner. What this can do is ensure you look crisp and neat which is important if you want to look smart. As the saying goes, the devil is in the details, so ensure your clothes are wrinkle free and starched if need be.
5. Have a Range of Tops
Trousers and skirts are something you can wear repeatedly, so invest in switching up your tops. Get a few silk tanks with high necklines as well as a basic white button down. A clean white shirt is one of the most classic items that you can have in your wardrobe, so invest in one or two that are of high quality. Striped button downs are also a great addition to add to your collection as well, so choose something professional yet fashionable.
